Due to our participation in the Microsoft Founders Hub program, we've been able to accomplish the following all while improving our existing delivery to customers.
Previous Years Updates
Just beginning a project that will involve over 300 sites for a new customer. We'll be providing maintenance alerts on their data collection infrastructure (which is where our core business usually resides). We'll be monitoring their real time data collection devices for a variety of known triggers and providing real time feedback / alerts to ensure their state.
Phase II of the project has us using machine learning to do some predictive analytics for maintenance of the devices.
Launched a new dashboard to provide real time insights to over 800 locations for a large grocery store chain (existing customer). This dashboard provides real time insights on a variety of alerts / triggers that drive energy savings at these locations. We now monitor / alert on anywhere from 6 points (legacy locations) to over 80 points (new builds) of real time electric data relating to a variety of operations / equipment within the store.
Are in late-stage discussions with a partner to build a new platform that will enable large chains to manage their carbon footprint and help them meet their Net 0 carbon goals.
Thanks in part to the savings from Azure, we're looking to bring on our first employee to grow our team. This position would aid in development, allowing us to put more effort into our sales and keep our momentum going.
Additionally, this may enable us to bring our utility bill scanning in house by leveraging the OCR technology from Azure to scan our bills and provide data from them in a structured format for our system.
Have begun selling our existing customer base on a new Predictive Analytics module that would be built leveraging some of the real time data stream, machine learning and now AI technologies from Azure that we previously were unable to afford.
This would be applied not only to our real time energy data, but also to the utility data that we collect for customers as well.
Another year of the program would help for this, but if we ended up with two years we could really double down on this with the money we'd be saving in the interim.
Financially, we've been able to realize some growth from the year prior as a benefit of the program, but again with our sales cycle much of our efforts won't be realized for the next few months. That said, we were able to bring in projects that boosted our revenue by 25% thanks to being able to refocus some of our efforts because we had the Azure credits.
Customer Case Study
For a large grocery store chain, we're presently monitoring over 20,000 active points of energy / energy related data. In the past it was a difficult
process for them to be able to look at their portfolio and spot issues.
Leveraging various Azure services, we've been able to create dynamic alerts based on a variety of cases for the customer and present real time
exception reporting. Instead of having to comb through the data to find if the parking lot light timer is setup wrong, any location that has lights on when
they shouldn't be is now presented to the user through the dashboard daily.
Previously, this level of real time processing wasn't possible. The next level for this is applying machine learning to their data trends to perform predeictive
analytics and optimize maintenance dispatch based not only on where there are known current issues, but also for locations in the general area that are going to
need service in the near future.
